学校からのメール

　毎週月曜日には，子どもたちの通う学校から一斉メールが届く。今日届いたシュントの学校からのメールの中のメッセージがおもしろかったので紹介したい。ちなみにシュントの学校は，1年生から4年生まで。

Warm Weather

While we want our students to be comfortable in warm weather – and it can be quite warm on the second floor – please bear with a brief reminder about appropriate school attire. Flip-flops and other very loose sandals can create a safety problem at recess and are not appropriate for PE or the Nature Trail. Also, please use your best judgment around “short” shorts and skirts and cut-off or skimpy shirts. In the event a student’s clothing creates a distraction to the learning environment, we may ask a student to cover up further or to call home.

　要するに，暑くなってきたけど，サンダルはあまり好ましくないし，あまり肌をさらした格好で来ないようにということ。学習環境に差し障ることもあるし，場合によっては家に電話するかもよ，って。基準の差はあるにせよ，やはり学校なんだなって思ったしだい。それにしても，4年生以下の学校からのメッセージだもんなあ。
